Using Passkey to Log In to Your IBKR Account
If you have not yet activated a passkey for your IBKR login, please visit the Activating a Passkey page for instructions.
When you log in to IBKR with a passkey enabled, you will:

Enter your username and password as usual

Select Passkey as your 2FA method (if you have multiple 2FA options)

Authenticate using your passkey (biometric or security key)

You are now logged in
Logging in from your computer using your mobile device:

Navigate to the IBKR Client Portal login page

Enter your login credentials and click on "Login"

If you have multiple 2FA methods active, select "Passkey" from the authentication method drop-down, followed by "Authenticate"

Select the option "iPhone, iPad, or Android device".

On your mobile device.

If a QR code appears on the login screen: Open your mobile device Camera app and scan the QR code

If you receive a notification: Tap the notification on your mobile device

Once the devices are connected, your phone will prompt you to authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or device PIN.

After successful authentication on your phone, you'll be logged in automatically on your computer.
Logging in directly from your mobile device:

Open your mobile browser and navigate to the IBKR Client Portal login page.

Enter your username and password.
-
Select "Passkey" as your 2FA method (if you have multiple options).

Authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or device PIN.

You'll be logged in immediately.
No codes to enter—authentication happens instantly after you verify your identity.

Navigate to the IBKR Client Portal login page.

Enter your login credentials and click on "Login".

If you have multiple 2FA methods active, select "Passkey" from the authentication method drop-down followed by "Authenticate".

Select "Security Key".

Insert your physical security key into your device's USB port and enter your PIN (or hold it near your device for NFC-enabled keys).

Touch the button or sensor on your security key.

You'll be logged in immediately.
