Plaid Identity Verification

IBKR may ask you to complete an identity verification through Plaid for an ACAT transfer. Once you have set up your ACAT transfer, please follow the steps below on proceeding with Plaid verification.

Plaid Verification

1. After providing your signature on the Transfer Verification page, you will be prompted to Verify Your Identity by connecting your brokerage account. Click Connect Account to sign in.

   

2. A pop-up will appear stating "Interactive Brokers uses Plaid to connect your account". Press Continue.

   

3. Select the institution that you would like to use to verify your identity.

   

4. Enter your login credentials for the institution and press Submit.

   

   If you encounter login or technical issues, you may close out of this pop-up and press Skip to proceed with email verification. You may also try to re-login to your brokerage account by selecting Connect Account.

   

5. Once the Plaid verification is successful, you will be prompted to provide a signature. Press Continue once you have done so.

   

6. You will then be prompted to Verify Your Identity by inputting the code sent to your email address. The email address will be listed on the screen. Press Continue once you have entered the code.

   

7. A confirmation screen will appear with a summary of your transfer request.

   

8. Click Finish to complete the ACATS transfer request.

Once the verification process has been successfully completed, your ACATS transfer request will be sent to the Contra Broker.
