Define the Score Calculations

By default, client scores are calculated using the average of all questions in the questionnaire. You can customize how scores are calculated in two ways:

  • Change the calculation method to use the minimum score instead of the average.
  • Create multiple groups, each of which can use either the minimum or average calculation.

Change the Calculation Method

To change the calculation method

  1. At the top of the Questionnaire draft, select Score Calculation. You’ll see the list of all questions in the questionnaire.
  2. Click the AVG drop down selector and choose MIN.
  3. Click Save to use the new calculation.
  4. Click Make Active so you can distribute the questionnaire to clients.

Create Multiple Groups

Create multiple groups of questions to further customize the calculation formula. Drag or duplicate questions from Group 1 into other groups, and specify a calculation (AVG or MIN) for each group. As you create and populate groups, the Score Calculation for the questionnaire updates in the right panel. There is no limit to the number of groups you can add.

To create multiple groups

  1. At the top of the Questionnaire draft, select Score Calculation. You’ll see the list of all questions in the questionnaire.
  2. Click +Add Group to create a new, empty group. Add more groups as desired.
  3. Add questions to the new group(s).
  • Click and drag a question to move it.
  • Click and hold the Shift key when you drag a question to duplicate it.
  1. By default each group uses the AVG calculation. Change the calculation to MIN if desired using the AVG drop down.
  2. Once the questionnaire is complete, click Save.

You can also modify the score scale from the Questions section.
