Instructions

Automated Clearing House (ACH) deposits/withdrawals may be made to your account here from and to your bank. The method referred to as ‘Link a New Bank Account’ means your transfer request will be automatically processed through a message sent to your bank by us.

To use this method, you must first create a standing instruction through Transfer & Pay Transfer authorizing IBKR us and your bank to electronically transfer funds between the two accounts. You will be asked to verify your bank in one of two ways:

Enter your banking information - Enter your bank account number and routing number for instant verification. If we cannot verify that the account is in your name, we will issue test transactions in the form of small debit and credit amounts to your bank account.

Log in at your bank - Select your bank and enter your username and password to verify your credentials immediately.

Once established, this transfer method can be used for future deposit and withdrawal requests.

Enter Your Banking Information

Select Enter your banking information.
Select the Bank Account Type.
Enter the Routing Number, Bank Account Number, and select Connect Bank Account.
You will be asked to confirm your request via electronic signature and security token authentication, which authorizes both IBKR us and your bank to act upon any transfer requests you provide.
If your bank account is in your name, your account will instantly link to it. Select Deposit Funds to start the transfer.
If we cannot verify the bank account is in your name, we will use the traditional verification method of sending two micro-deposits to your bank account.
Within 1-3 business days, two random credits (micro-deposits) each less than one dollar, and a corresponding debit (withdrawal) will be issued to your bank account.
You will need to monitor your bank account for these transactions as you will need to confirm this funding instruction.

Once these transactions have reached your bank account, log back in to Portal and from the Pending Items menu (Home page > Blue bell icon in the top right corner > Pending Items) enter the amounts to confirm.
After you have entered the correct amounts, you can use the ACH instruction for deposit and withdrawal transfers.

Select Log in at your bank.
Enter an Account Nickname and select Verify Bank Account.

You may be prompted to verify the bank account via Plaid Verification. Click the link to view instructions.
Select Get Started in the pop-up window.
Select your bank from the pop-up window.
Enter the login credentials for your online banking account and click Sign on.
You may need to complete additional SMS verification depending on your bank.
Select the account you would like to connect and press Continue.
Select the check box to the left of Terms & Conditions and press Connect.
The verification screen will present the details of the account you selected. Click Confirm.
Verify the banking information on the Portal and click Continue.
Sign the populated agreement. Input your username, password, and complete authentication. Press Continue.
- Complete authentication using your two-factor security device. If you are using IB Key, open the notification on your phone. If you are using the Digital Security Card, enter the challenge code.
A confirmation screen will appear. Select Deposit Funds to initiate the transfer.
