Internal Transfer

Instructions

Use the Fund Transfers page to transfer funds internally from your account to another IBKR account .

Enter an Internal Funds Transfer.
  1. Click Transfer & Pay > Transfer Funds.

    • Alternatively, click Menu in the top left corner > Transfer & Pay > Transfer Funds.

  2. The Account Selector will open. Select the account you want to use for this transaction, or use the search function in the Account Selector to find the desired account. Click Continue to submit your account selection and close the Account Selector.

  3. From the tab menu select Internal Transfer.

  4. Select a Transfer Type (Position Transfer, Cash Transfer, or Full Account Transfer). Then, select the Destination Account and press Continue.

  5. Select the Currency and enter the Amount to transfer.

  6. Click Continue.

    Note: To cancel a transaction, you can click Cancel at any time.

  7. If prompted, enter your username and password.

  8. You will immediately receive an email notification containing a confirmation number. Enter the number where indicated on the Internal Funds Transfer page, then click Confirm.

  9. If you did not receive a confirmation number, click Resend Confirmation Number to receive a new one.

Associate Accounts for Internal Transfers

If the destination account does not populate in the drop-down list, follow the steps below to request a new Transfer Association.

  1. Click Transfer & Pay > Transfer Funds.

    • Alternatively, click Menu in the top left corner > Transfer & Pay > Transfer Funds.

  2. The Account Selector opens. Select the account you want to use, or find it using the search function in the Account Selector. Click Continue to submit your account selection and close the Account Selector.

  3. Select Internal Transfer from the tab menu.

  4. If you do not see the destination account populating in the drop-down menu, you may manually enter the account number and provide a reason for transfer, then press Continue.

  5. Select the Currency and enter the Amount to transfer.

  6. If prompted, confirm your identity when prompted by entering your login information along with the two-factor security device; or type the confirmation number we emailed to you and press Continue to save.

    The transfer funds verify indentity in portal.

  7. Navigate to the Transfer & Pay > Saved Information > Pending section to view your pending request.
